Lois Moorcroft

Lois Moorcroft was elected to the Yukon Legislative Assembly in the general election of October 11, 2011.
Ms. Moorcroft is the NDP caucus critic for the Departments of Justice, Highways & Public Works, and Education (Advanced Education). She also serves as the caucus whip.
Ms. Moorcroft previously represented the electoral district of Mount Lorne in the 28th Legislative Assembly (1992 -1996) and the 29th Legislative Assembly (1996 - 2000). During the 28th Legislative Assembly, Ms. Moorcroft served on the Standing Committee on Rules, Elections and Privilege. During the 29th Legislative Assembly, she served as Minister of Justice, Minister of Education and Minister responsible for the Women's Directorate.
Ms. Moorcroft was previously a librarian at Yukon College. She has also served on the Review of Yukon's Police Force Advisory Committee representing a coalition of Yukon women's groups, was appointed to the Yukon Human Rights Commission, the Yukon Electoral District Boundaries Commission, the Yukon Child Care Board, the Yukon Employment Standards Board, and has held executive positions with the Yukon College Employees Union, the Yukon Federation of Labour, and the Public Service Alliance of Canada Equal Opportunities Committee.
